Review of the fighter: Riding high on the fervor of Republic Day in India, Siddharth Anand's excursion has the makings of a patriotic drama. You're kept on the edge of your seat by the artists' excellent aerial stunts. As the spectator is introduced to the Air Dragons, the film opens with Sukhoi planes doing fearless maneuvers.
Meenal Rathore, also known as Minnie (Deepika Padukone), Shamsher Pathania, or Patty (Hrithik Roshan), Taj (Karan Singh Oberoi), and Basheer (Akshay Oberoi), are members of the squad, and their commander is Rakesh "Rocky" Jay Singh (Anil Kapoor). Rocky and Patty's obvious tension as well as a mention of a horrific previous event set the stage for drama and excitement to come.
Renowned action entertainer Siddharth Anand, the director, delivers slick scenes and captivating drama in the cockpit. Se-yeong, directors of action Oh, Parvez Shaikh and Sunil Rodrigues are able to hold the attention of the viewers with their thrilling stunts and battle choreography all the way through. Thank you to Satchith Paulose, the cinematographer, for adding a sense of grandeur to the film, whether it be in the airbases, over the valleys, or among the mountains. However, at different points in the story, the cliches and formulaic songs detract from its allure. The movie uses standard plot devices, such as a terrifying Pakistani insurgent out to destroy India and the Air Dragons coming to the rescue. There have also been numerous instances of lines that serve as a reminder of the genuine significance of religion and nationalism.
Songs, backstories, and romance feel more like an afterthought than a means of advancing the plot, aside from the well-known premise. It feels a little contrived to have a female smashing the glass ceiling in a male-dominated field alongside patriarchy. The movie has an irregular pace in the second half, which slows down until the finale because of all these factors. But you'll be glued to the screen once the real action starts.
When it comes to performances, Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone are at the top. As a self-assured and defiant squadron leader, the former shines. The pair succeeds well in dramatic sequences and has a scorching on-screen chemistry. Anil Kapoor remains a solid actor who perfectly captures the subtleties of his character. Among these legends, Karan Singh Oberoi and Akshay Oberoi also have a strong position. Although Rishabh Sawhney gives a sincere performance as Azhar Akhtar, the adversary, he is not as terrifying as his character calls for.
The film is made more enticing and thrilling by the tactical scenarios in which the Indian Air Force outwits the Pakistani defense. The plot and narrative of "Fighter" are not particularly novel. However, it's a compelling story, and action fans will be thrilled by the amazing aerial battle scenes.
